Set out in three separate buildings, the main house is one of the oldest houses of Tosalet and has retained its original Spanish charm and character along with a more modern annex and separate studio which are all set in a Mediterranean garden with mature shady palms, olive, lemon, orange, carob and yucca trees. There is also 10 x 5 metre swimming pool with lawns and sun terraces and a walled Andalucian courtyard (after which the house is named) with ornamental water fountain and depending on the time of year, the walls cascade with bougainvillea, scented jasmine, Gardenia, Hibiscus and Geranium.
From the villa it is less than 2 kms to the sea and Palm tree sandy beach of Javea, and it is not far by car to explore the many other lovely coves and beaches that surround the area. Here you will experience the crystal clear water, backed by cliffs and mountains, green valleys with oranges, lemons, almonds and grapevines. This area is know as part of the Orange Blossom Coast and is days of yore I am told that sailors could smell the orange blossom 10 nautical miles off shore.
Javea itself was once a small fishing village, which has grown in popularity and can now, offers something for everyone. The old fisherman’s quarter “Aduanas de Mar” harbors a great many boats from the humble fishing fleet to ocean going yachts. The Old Town “El Pueblo” with its wealth of architecture, history and narrow windy streets. The coastline is broken up with small coves and beaches to explore. Ambolo the nudist beach and Granadella an area of outstanding natural beauty is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The Arenal is a beautiful sandy beach with palm trees and is full of life day and night.
Javea has the protection of the “Montgo” mountain and can offer very mild winters and not too hot summers. The World Health Organisation has reported that the Costa Blanca is one of the worlds’ healthiest places to be. The biggest kept secret about Javea is its winters – take a look at http://www.selectholidayvillas.com/ – I know where I would rather be!
